John Cowin
As co-owner of Central State Agency, John has a successful career as a Real Estate Broker, Certified General Appraiser, and insurance agent. John is a preeminent leader in agland sales in Kossuth, Winnebago, Emmet, and Hancock Counties in Iowa and land sales in Faribault and Martin County in Minnesota, selling up to 2,000 acres annually. John also has been involved in many residential and commercial real estate sales.
John’s expertise in real estate appraisals fosters his knowledge of current land values and sales to better serve his clients. Farmland is a great investment as John knows firsthand with his acquisition of over 600 acres of farmland in northern Iowa. As a farm manager, John works with both owners and operators to arrive at equitable rents and a good return on investment. John graduated with a business degree from the University of Northern Iowa and has thousands of continuing education hours that give him a breadth of knowledge in all areas of real estate, investments, and agriculture. Throughout his years in business, John values the relationships he has gained as clients become friends.
John is active in various community and church organizations, including a 30+ career as a volunteer firefighter, a trustee to an area hospital, and a mutual insurance board director. John is a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, who also enjoys, golf, fishing, and spending time on the lake.
